Joshua Upputuru comes with over 22 years of work experience including 12 years as a filmmaker - having worked on long-form for web, a feature film, short films, ad films, and music videos.
As the founder of Mumbai-based production house, Joshua Tree Films, he produces and directs ad films and original content. As an advertising professional, Joshua has also helped build brands at leading global network advertising agencies such as Ogilvy India, Saatchi & Saatchi, and Contract India (JWT India), specializing in marketing strategy and creative insights for local and international brands across categories.
During his long stint as an entrepreneur, Joshua has produced commercials collaborating with some of the most talented ad filmmakers from around the globe, shooting in multiple countries, and managing post-production across continents.
He is just wrapping up a content series for Disney Hotstar as an Executive Producer. Previously, he worked on a Hindi feature film "Suraj pe Mangal Bhaari" starring Diljit Dosanjh, Fatima Sana Sheikh, and Manoj Bajpai for Essel (Zee) Studios.
His directorial short film "Zoya" received global recognition, emerging as the sole nominee from India at the Toronto Lift-off online short-film fest. Additionally, "Bon Voyage", executive produced by him was shortlisted at the Academy Awards in the Best Live Action Short Film Category, 2017 apart from winning 14 awards globally.
Unexpectedly in his choices, after a long day, Joshua unwinds by indulging in two polar opposite hobbies - cooking and creating EDM sets.
