Writer, Film Director & Creative Director
Sofia de Fay is a writer, film director, and creative director working in documentaries and commercials. Recently, she directed a documentary series for National Geographic, covering the recent UAE space missions to Mars and the Moon, and preparing the first Arab astronauts for their expedition to the ISS. She worked at COP28 as creative director responsible for the daily content covering the daily sessions. Highlights of her career include directing some powerful fund-raising films shot in refugee camps in Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon. She directed a film during the Nepalese earthquake, she covered the famine in Somalia and the tsunami in India. She has won over a hundred awards at international festivals for both commercial and feature films.
